Sitting atop the world.

There is something about the bird’s eye view. There is something about looking down at great structures. A feeling of being above everybody. Above all chores and usettlement, right in the lap of the nature ,watching it in the eye. This feeling in me took me to an old place just a few metres away from our halt. It was about morning and I went out for it. Found that old monastery which had this old wooden porch in the back of it.

It is always a risk sitting on an old wooden porch which looks down to a several hundred feet. But I believed the sunrise would be worth the risk. I checked it’s condition and sat on it. The wood creaked a bit running shocks down my spine. Yet I held on to it.

I was just about getting lost in its serenity that a voice interrupted ! It was a monk !

V : What it is about you travelers that you all are attracted towards danger ?

Me : Pleasure.

V : Well now you know why we are what we are. We all are selfish !

As I sat awe struck, he just turned back and walked away. While I was entering , I saw a small boy in the cold morning drawing water from a fall. I thought Why these monks are what they are? Over Disciplined, Strict and Boring?Which one of us does not like to get up late? But then this small boy is already up and working while most of his contemporaries are deep asleep. But then the monk answered just that.

This photo is from that porch. Rupin pass is a wonderful trek. Its deep, tough to reach but it is only in the wilderness that you account such awesome incidences.. 😍

Breaking Stereotypes

Ladkiyan bullet nhi chalaya karti, peeche baithti hai

Girls should not ride bullets, they should sit in the back seat only.

You will often hear things like this and more discouraging stuffs spoken to and about you when you are born a girl in India. India does not love a girl child. My grand mother used to say

Aurat bistar pe chahiye,  par kokh mein beti nhi.

(Everybody wants a woman in the bed but none of them wants to give birth to a girl.)

Yes I am frustrated of the situation. It is tough very tough here.

Bitten by the travel bug from the childhood , I opted to be a traveler. To convince my parents was the toughest job.I could not and I fled from home.

Now I roam places and all I feel is the peace and all I see is serenity.  I do travel blogging and freelancing for a living. It’s tough though but believe me when you get Nature for lunch and dinner , it is worth it.!

This one is from my Ladakh trip. Bullets are sexy rides.

The Most Amazing Trip I Had 😍

Oh well, I met another bullet rider too. Now we are “Both” on a mission to explore the world.

Coldplay Fixed a Nation.

“Have you ever been to a Coldplay concert?” Sam would always ask this question to every music enthusiast he meets.

The answers were “No” mostly. Others were “What ? Coldplay? What is that?”

Well Nov 19, 2016 changed that. Global Citizen India, hosted the first Coldplay concert and gave ten thousand tickets for free to its members. We Indians love things Free and thus eighty thousand of us flooded their gates that day.

That evening, I saw people cry, tears of joy hearing Coldplay live.

They raised so much money that they could fund the solution of sanitation and child education for over half a million people in India.

The large response made other organizers bring other international singers to India. Unknowingly we all took a small step towards attaining a broader mentality. Welcoming a new culture.

Chris Martin dint lie when he sang

I will try to fix you

Finally Sam has got people to answer yes to his question.

Sitting in a porch, under the Milky Way.

Down the woods that house was. Jamie and me (Sarah) worked the whole day to get its light fixed. A destination wedding planner asked it prepared for a newly wed couple.

It became late, and we decided to stay put. Late Srilankan evenings are pure bliss. The whole of Milky Way just dawned upon us.

Sitting by the porch, with two beer in hands and a joint on our lips , we talked about Aliens ! It looked like the teen age fantasies still lied somewhere dormant inside.

I found my best friend in my ex husband.
